He tells BT Sport: “It’s a great result for us. Nothing is yet finished. Only great teams arrive in the semifinals.”

The striker added: “We know that we’ve got a good result, [but] we have to be careful. They’re still a good team.”

While a 2-0 away-from-home win for Inter is quite the result for Simone Inzaghi’s team, they could have scored four or five in the first half alone.

A penalty was awarded to them by Gil Manzano before he overturned it after consulting the monitor. Had VAR not intervened, this tie might be as good as game over.

It wasn’t as damaging for AC Milan as it looked like it might have been in the first half, but this was a fairly comprehensive win by Inter. They’ll have the majority of the fans in the San Siro for the second leg, and you’d have to fancy them now.

Quality strikes from Dzeko and Mkhitaryan decided this contest, with Inter both creating and taking the bulk of the chances. Rossoneri fans will be praying Leao is fit for the second leg.

Their fans must be delighted by this. They’ve got one foot in the final after tonight’s performance.
