Goodbye for now
That’s it from our live coverage of Paul’s victory over Tyson.
It was one of the most anticipated sporting events in history as a social media celebrity-turned-boxer faced arguably the greatest to ever enter the ring.
The wonder and curiosity of just what lay in store drew in the crowds, but Tyson walked away with his head held high, while for Paul the world of boxing is now at his feet.
We’ll keep our eyes open for what is next for Paul and Al Jazeera Sport will be there to cover it when the time comes for the next fight.
We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this one and do tune across to our cricket coverage later if you can.
For now, though – from Andrew Semple and me, Kevin Hand – it’s goodbye.

Who next for Jake Paul?
A fight against Canelo Alvarez has been lined up all week but, realistically, Paul now holds all the cards.
The 27-year-old has landed a box office bout with perhaps the greatest heavyweight of all time and come out with not only a victory but barely a scratch.
The queue of fighters will stretch long and wide for a money-spinning event against a YouTube phenomenon, who not only has become a professional fighter but also owns a boxing promotion company.
The link-ups and growth for Paul now are huge. He can pick and choose who and when he wants to fight.
Greater challenges will lie ahead if Paul is serious about furthering his sporting career, as well as his social media presence, but, technically and tactically, he has proved he is far from a gimmick in the ring.

Can Tyson really go again?
When asked after the fight whether this was the end of the road for Tyson’s boxing career, the former undisputed champion of the world said he would fight on. Perhaps even against Paul’s brother.
“I’d kill you, Mike,” was the retort by Logan Paul, who stood behind Jake in the ring.
Before the fight, Lennox Lewis was asked if he would offer Tyson the rematch that never happened if he overcame Paul. Lewis said: “No. I don’t think he wants that smoke either. He doesn’t want that smoke. Lennox Lewis is the best. I laid them all to rest.”
Realistically, this should be the end of the road for Tyson. As he said himself after the fight, he had nothing to prove to anyone other than himself. He did that by getting in great shape and taking all the punches from a younger man in his prime.
The next chapter for Tyson has to be to remain the centre of attention, for the inevitable shows and events that will follow, but the centre of the ring is no longer the place for the 58-year-old.

The upper body and mind were willing for Tyson
The 58-year-old tore into the fight, perhaps in the knowledge that he wouldn’t be able to counter the younger fighter’s ability to continue to throw punches.
The opening rounds looked like Tyson would indeed be able to land a knockout punch but Paul, whether in reaction or through clear plan, stepped off and used his feet to great effect.
Tyson couldn’t get into his opponents. Mainly because he couldn’t keep up with Paul’s dance around the ring, but also because the jab was waiting for him every time he looked to advance.
The balance throughout was clear to all, and to Paul. It appeared that he knew it would only take one punch from Tyson to finish the fight if he got within range.
As it was, the legs couldn’t stand the test of time for the former champ. His chin, however, did. Paul landed early in the third to shake Tyson but he would not be knocked down despite the frequency of the punches thereafter.

Respect between two champions!
Almost every fight is remembered for one image more than any other.
For the Tyson-Paul fight, it might be the embrace and mutual respect shown at the final bell.

Paul laps up the adulation
The YouTuber-turned-boxer enters the crowd for a meet and greet. There were plenty of plaudits for his technique. He did what he had to do and used his far superior reach and agility to keep Tyson at bay while notching up the points.

Tyson applauded out
The former champion makes his way from the ring and is given a warm reception from the crowd.
The legs just weren’t there to keep pace with the younger fighter, and Paul’s tactics to outdance Tyson worked a treat.

Who will Paul fight next?
“Anyone I want,” Paul said. “This is the biggest event. Everyone is next on the list. I’m not going to call out names.”
Asked about the rumours of a match-up with Mexican fighter, Canelo Alvarez, Paul added: “Canelo needs me so I’m not going to call him out. He needs the money.”

Tyson’s post-fight thoughts
“I’m really happy. He was a good fighter and well-prepared,” Tyson said. “I didn’t prove anything to anyone. Just to myself.”
Asked about a knee brace that he wore for the fight, Tyson said: “I can’t use that as an excuse or wouldn’t have been in there.”
Asked if this was the end for Tyson in the ring, he concluded: “I don’t think so.”

Paul’s post-fight thoughts
“It was tough like I expected it to be,” Paul said. “He’s exactly what I thought. One of the greatest to ever do it. He’s an icon and a legend.”
On not going for the knockout win, he added: “I was scared he was going to hurt me. I was trying to hurt him.”

A tale of two wary fighters
Neither fighter gambled even to the very last, but Paul didn’t need to.
He had it on points thanks to his reach and jab. He was wary to the very end to get close to Tyson, seemingly fearing a knockout blow from the older fighter.

Round Eight – Tyson ran out of legs
A standoff finished the fight. Tyson was exhausted by the end and Paul bowed in front of him out of respect. Tyson held up his glove to his opponent – he had nothing left in reserve.

Paul dominates to the last
The jab keeps Tyson at bay. Is there one last punch left in the former champ?

The final two minutes
Tyson has to land a punch to knock out Paul or it’s a points win for the younger man.

Round Seven – Paul with a one-two to finish
The younger fighter lined up Tyson, and was warned not to by the ref, then landed a one-two to finish the round.

Tyson comes to life
Tyson seems to be able to come out with a burst at the start of each round but then retreats to a more defensive mode. The punches landed are incomparable as Paul’s reach continues to outdo Tyson’s lack of pace.

Round Six – Tyson pushed back
The former champ can’t get on the front foot. Paul keeps him at a distance with the jab and continues to notch up the punches thrown and landed. Tyson needs a punch for the ages to turn this now. Otherwise, it’s rope-a-dope to a Paul victory on points.
